It is impeccably researched and meticulously organized. In addition to it being a great reference for amateur or professional luthiers, it is also a perfect introduction to the art of Cigar Box Guitar and DIY instrument construction and a fun and interesting read from cover to cover. his building is much like all the rest of the books out there

Very well written, I have learned more tricks of the trade in Charles book... Which ones you ask? You will have to read the book... his building is much like all the rest of the books out there...Like Cigar Box Guitar, Handmade Music Factory, Picken Stick Building... BUT at the end of the book the trick of making a bridge or some of the setup are very good resources.... Well done Charle...

Worthy of 6 stars if that were possible!

I would have given this book 6 stars if I were able to! The author Charles E. Atchison does a fantastic job of breaking down the steps to building fantastic folk insturments. I found his steps easy to follow even though I have never built a guitar before. Inside the book you will find a list of references that are extremely helpful to the process of building your own folk instrument. You will also find the authors web site which I highly recomend checking out! All in all I found the book to be a fantastic read. Based on how much I enjoyed this book I would buy other books from written by Charles E. Atchison.
